So, I went to TCAF, and more on that later. But let me first share this with you. I was occasionally sharing the Blank Shelf table with the german artist Mawil. Do you know Mawil's books? I think they're great. I'd loved We Can Still Be Friends and Sparky O’Hare, so was eager to get my hands on his new translations Home and Away and The Band. Which I stowed away carefully to read on the plane home. What fun I had when I finally did. Two great things...
First, check out this dedication drawing...

"what's that he's playing? why it's Sam's toy truck!" (as seen on the right)

Next, check out the background in this panel...

"That's right, it's a copy of my book The Accidental Salad"

Thanks for the tip !

"Home and Away" seems to have the same cover as a book that was published in France under the title "Welcome Home", but that one was one story about going to a sort of hippie commune/festival, while "Home and Away" seems to be a collection of short stories ?

Yeah, it's the commune one, plus a heap of others, some in colour.

So cool! You're in a Mawil panel! :D I met him at Angouleme two years ago and had a big fan-girl grin on my face.
